This Privacy Policy explains how Exp Note: Expense Tracker ("the app", "we") handles information when you use the app. Exp Note is developed by Black & White Studio and is designed to be private and offline-first.

Information we handle

The app does not require an account or sign-up. The financial information you enter stays on your device:

• Finance data — transactions, accounts, budgets, bills, subscriptions, debts, savings goals, categories and settings you create are stored locally on your device.
• No account, no cloud sync — we do not collect, upload or sell the financial data you enter. It is not transmitted to our servers by the app.
• Advertising — the app is free with ads. Third-party ad providers (Google AdMob) may collect and process device identifiers, including the advertising ID, and related data to serve and measure ads in accordance with Google's policies.
• Purchases — the optional one-time Premium (Remove Ads) purchase is processed by Google Play Billing. The app itself does not collect or store payment information.

How information is used

The data you enter is used solely to run the app on your device — recording transactions, calculating budgets and balances, sending local reminders and showing your analytics. Advertising data is used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. Local notifications are generated on your device and are not sent to us.

Data sharing

We do not sell your information. Aside from the advertising and billing providers described above, the app does not share your data with third parties.

Data retention & control

Because your finance data is stored locally, you remain in control. You can edit or delete records within the app, export a CSV or JSON backup at any time, delete all data from Settings, and uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data from your device. You can secure the app with a biometric or PIN lock.

Children

Exp Note is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
