Welcome to TailorOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Android app and any related services operated by Black & White Studio ("we", "us", "our").
Privacy in one line. TailorOS works without an account by default. Your customers, measurements, orders, payments and expenses live on your device. Google sign-in is optional; AES-encrypted Drive backups land in your own Drive — we never store your business data on our servers.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Google account info (optional) — name, email, profile photo when you choose to sign in.
- Customer data — names, phone numbers, measurements and notes.
- Order data — item descriptions, delivery dates, trial dates, status, images.
- Financial data — advance payments, due tracking, expenses.
Information collected automatically
- Remote Config fetches — feature flags, version checks, ecommerce visibility. No personal data is sent beyond an anonymous Firebase app instance ID.
- Crash reports (optional) — anonymous stack traces via Firebase Crashlytics if enabled.
3. How we use information
- To operate customer, measurement, order and payment features.
- To authenticate you (only if you choose Google sign-in).
- To deliver Drive backup and restore.
- To enforce premium plan limits gracefully via Remote Config.
- To improve reliability via anonymous crash diagnostics.
4. Guest mode & local-first storage
By default, TailorOS runs in Guest mode — no account, no backend. All customer, measurement, order, payment and expense data is stored in a local Room database on your device. If you uninstall the app without a backup, the data is permanently deleted.
5. Encrypted Drive backup
When you enable Drive backup, TailorOS writes an AES-encrypted backup of your database, images and settings to a private app folder in your own Google Drive account. We do not access, read or store backups on our servers. You may revoke access via Google account settings any time.
6. Remote configuration
TailorOS uses Firebase Remote Config to control feature flags (e.g. force update, ecommerce visibility, upgrade popup, maintenance mode). No personal or business data is sent in these requests beyond an anonymous Firebase app instance ID.
7. Permissions
- Camera — to attach images to orders (e.g. reference fabrics).
- Notifications — for delivery, trial and overdue reminders.
- Internet — only for Google sign-in (optional), Drive backup and Remote Config.
- Biometric — to unlock the app via fingerprint, if you enable it.
- Drive (AppData) — to read/write your private backup file. Only requested when you enable backup.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for their own purposes. Data is shared only with Google (Auth, Drive, Firebase) to operate the Service, and when required by law.
9. Security
- Local data lives in the app's private storage; an app lock (PIN + fingerprint) is available.
- Backups are AES-encrypted before upload.
- Tokens (when you sign in) live in encrypted DataStore.
10. Retention & deletion
- Local data — kept until you delete it or uninstall.
- Drive backups — kept in your Drive until you remove them.
- Google account (if you sign in) — kept until you request deletion via email.
11. Your rights
You may access, correct, delete or port your account data by emailing us. Local data is fully under your control via the app.
12. Children's privacy
TailorOS is a business tool not directed to children under 13.
