This Privacy Policy explains how Alarm Mate (the "app") handles your information. The app is developed by Black & White Studio ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the app you agree to this policy.

Privacy in one line. Alarm Mate runs fully on-device. There is no account, no ads and no analytics, and nothing leaves your phone. Sensitive permissions (location, camera, motion) are used only while a wake-up mission actually needs them.

1. Who we are

2. On-device by design

Alarm Mate is a fully on-device alarm clock. It has no account or login system, runs no analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not transmit your data to us or to any third party. We never see your alarms, habits, routines or stats.

3. What stays on your phone

Everything you create is stored locally in the app's private storage:

Alarms — times, repeat rules, tones, missions and per-alarm settings.
Habits, streaks & XP — your wake-up tracking data.
Naps, routines & reminders — power naps, bedtime reminder and morning checklist.
Stats & trends — your wake-up history and which missions you use.

If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted from your device.

4. Permissions & when they're used

Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM) — so wake-up alarms ring at the exact time you set, regardless of Doze or battery optimisation.
Foreground service / media playback — to play the alarm sound and keep the mission screen on top until you dismiss it.
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) — used only by the optional Walking mission, only while the alarm is ringing, to measure how far you've walked. Read in the foreground only and never stored or transmitted.
Camera — used only by the optional QR-code and Barcode missions while you scan to dismiss. Never opened in the background, recorded or transmitted.
Physical activity (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION) — used by the optional Step and Squat missions to count steps and squats with the device's motion sensors. Not transmitted off-device.
Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — to re-schedule your alarms after a reboot, including before you unlock (direct-boot aware).
Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) — optional, to show the alarm-dismiss screen over the lock screen so mission alarms can't be bypassed.
Ignore battery optimisation — requested during onboarding so OEM battery savers don't kill the alarm scheduler before the alarm fires.

No data is shared with third parties. Because nothing leaves the device, "data deletion" simply means deleting items in the app or uninstalling it.

6. No analytics, ads or accounts

Alarm Mate contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no account system. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data — there is no data collected to sell.

7. Backup & restore

You can back up your alarms, habits and routines and restore them on another device. Any backup file is created and stored wherever you choose; we never receive it.

8. Security

Your data lives in the app's private storage sandbox, accessible only to the app. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side copy of your data to be breached.

9. Retention & deletion

We hold no data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. To remove everything, delete individual items in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall it. Any backups you created are deleted wherever you saved them.

10. Children's privacy

Alarm Mate is a general-audience utility (rated Everyone / 3+) and collects no personal data from anyone.

11. Changes & contact
